The role of the nurse in the prevention of arterial hypertension

Abstract

Abstract. As an integral part of the health care system, nursing has its own unique distinction among other disciplines. There is no doubt that this is one of the most valuable sciences today. After all, today the role of nursing services and the nurse as a specialist who is the first to contact the patient, his family and the environment and care for them in the hospital and at home until the end of life is growing. And nursing, as an integral part of the health care system, is aimed specifically at solving the problems of individual and public health of the population in changing environmental conditions and includes activities to strengthen health, prevent diseases, provide psychosocial assistance and care for people, who have physical and (or) mental illnesses, as well as disabled persons of all age groups. In many European countries, nurses form the basis of primary health care. The key role in the prevention of patients with arterial hypertension (AH) is undoubtedly played by the nurse, implementing health promotion measures that ensure disease control, prevent complications and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Without a doubt, it is important for the nurse to increase the theoretical and practical knowledge of patients and to encourage changes in attitudes towards health behavior. A nurse has to deal with patients of different ages, with certain social and cultural priorities of clients. However, the object of her activity always remains a person. This requires a nurse to have special individual qualities, a system of values, a worldview, and, above all, a meaningful attitude towards oneself as a subject of professional activity. Анотація. Медсестринство, як невід’ємна частина системи охорони здоров’я, має своє унікальне розрізнення серед інших дисциплін. Немає сумніву, що це одна з найбільш цінних наук сьогодення. Адже сьогодні зростає роль медсестринських служб та медичної сестри як фахівця, яка першою контактує з пацієнтом, його родиною та оточенням і опікується ними в лікарні та вдома до кінця життя. А сестринська справа, як складова частина системи охорони здоров'я, спрямована саме на рішення проблем індивідуального та громадського здоров'я населення в мінливих умовах навколишнього середовища і включає в себе діяльність по зміцненню здоров'я, профілактиці захворювань, надання психосоціальної допомоги та догляду людям, які мають фізичні і (або) психічні захворювання, а також непрацездатним всіх вікових груп. У багатьох європейських країнах медичні сестри складають основу первинної ланки охорони здоров'я. Ключову роль у профілактиці пацієнтів з артеріальною гіпертензією (АГ) безперечно відіграє медична сестра, здійснюючи заходи зі зміцнення здоров’я, що забезпечують контроль захворювання, запобігають ускладненням та покращують якість життя пацієнтів та їх сім’ї. Без сумніву, важливим для медичної сестри залишається підвищення теоретичних та практичних знань пацієнтів та заохочення змін у ставленні до поведінки щодо здоров’я. Медичній сестрі доводиться мати справу з пацієнтами різного віку, з певними соціальними та культурними пріоритетами клієнтів. Однак, об’єктом її діяльності завжди залишається людина. Це потребує від медичної сестри особливих індивідуальних якостей, системи цінностей, світогляду, і, перш за все, осмисленого ставлення до себе як суб’єкта професійної діяльності.
