The Village of Rosha (Roșoșa, Roșișa, Ruschiza, Rosușa, Roșușe) within the Principality of Moldavia (1359–1774)

Abstract

У статті досліджено історію села Роша (Рошоша, Рошіша, Рушиця, Рошуша, Рошуше) у складі Молдавського князівства в період 1359–1774 рр. Проаналізовано письмові джерела, топонімічні варіанти назви поселення та його адміністративну належність у різні історичні періоди. Розглянуто питання історико-географічного розташування, етнічних і культурних процесів у регіоні, а також роль Роші в системі поселень Буковини. Уточнено окремі аспекти локалізації та історичної інтерпретації розвитку населеного пункту. The article examines the history of the village of Rosha (Roșoșa, Roșișa, Ruschiza, Rosușa, Roșușe) within the Principality of Moldavia during the period 1359–1774. Written sources, toponymic variants of the settlement name, and its administrative affiliation in different historical periods are analyzed. The study considers the historical and geographical location, ethnic and cultural processes in the region, and the role of Rosha within the settlement system of Bukovyna. Certain aspects of localization and historical interpretation of the village’s development are clarified.
