Abstract

Infradian rhythms of physiological functions are the focus of researchers' attention mainly due to the course of such well-known phenomena as the menstrual cycle, and seasonal exacerbations of chronic disorders in therapeutic or psychiatric practice. However, the study of infradian fluctuations in the course of physiological processes is complicated by their multicyclic structure and the combination of factors that cause them. The study of scientific data on the seasonal rhythms of fluctuations in the biochemical parameters of the blood of mammals, as well as the experience of conducting experiments to study the effect of hypobaric hypoxia on the indicators of peroxidation of proteins and lipids, the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the blood of rats at the background of the altered duration of the photoperiod, suggests that the results of short- term (up to two weeks) experimental interventions are influenced by infradian cycles, seasonal rhythms in particular.
