116 patients with essential hypertension and combined with diabetes mellitus of type 2 have been examined in which blood the indices of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, insulin resistance, the content of tumor necrosis factor-α have been studied. It has been established that metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, hyper-C-peptidemia, dyslipidemia, the decreased of the content of tumor necrosis factor-α occur against a background of abdominal obesity in patients with essential hypertension combined with diabetes mellitus of type 2. Basal hyperinsulinemia in patients with essential hypertension is associated with an increase in diastolic blood pressure, HOMA-index ІR, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, content of tumor necrosis factor-α and decreased concentrations of high density lipoprotein cholesterol. In patients with essential hypertension combined with diabetes mellitus type 2 according lipid disorders and content of tumor necrosis factor-α on the level of the basal insulinemia is not established.
