Етимологічний аналіз мікрогідронімійного ареалу Тернопільщини

Abstract

Goal. The paper has analyzed folk geographical terms of the microfield «stagnant waters» in the composition of the microhydronyms of the territory of the Upper – Middle Reaches of the Dniester which embraces the Ternopil’ region according to the administrative and territorial structure which is abundant in reservoirs of a closed type (ponds, pools, lakes, storage ponds, ravines, filled with stagnant water ets.). Conclusions. In the process of the study of microhydronymic cadastre microhydronyms among which we traced quantitative correlation between derivatives of the ones derived from appellatives (56 %) the ones derived from onyms (44 %) were analysed. There is a tendency in the oblast to prevalence of the hydronyms derived from appellatives over those derived from onyms. In the process of research the character of microhydronyms in reference to their locative (location of the object, physical and geographical peculiarities) or possessive types (belonging of the hydronym to a person); prerequisites for appearance and traced stages of formation of microhydronyms. The relaitonship between derivational structure of microhydronyms and adjacent oikonyms from the point of view of primacy/secondariness of their origin, the names of microhydroobjects were grouped from the point of view of their archaic character and productiveness and areas of their use was established. Genetic information about microhyronyms was also obtained.
