Prospects for the use of phytopreparations in the treatment of type 2 diabetes

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a chronic endocrine disease characterized by persistently elevated blood glucose levels and impaired insulin tolerance. Diabetes mellitus type 2 counts for 90-95% of all reported cases of diabetes. Given the global pandemic situation, patients with diabetes should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible, as the risk of developing COVID-19 in such patients is much higher. This risk can be reduced, but not completely eliminated, by maintaining good glycemic control and treating diabetes on time and correctly.
